Fatia Owoseni, Lagos state police commissioner on Tuesday threatened to deal ruthlessly with residents of Ikorodu who have formed the habits of applying jungle justice to suspected Badoo cultists and other suspected criminals caught in the acts instead of handing them over the police.
Owoseni dropped the threat when he visited the palace of Eng Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu following the peaceful protest embarked upon by about 300 aggrieved women in Ikorodu over the Badoo killings that have defied solutions.
Our correspondent, who was on a surveillance mission to the area observed that as early as 7 a.m, the women around Ibeshe, Ikorodu embarked on the protest to the palace of two royal fathers the Onibeshe of Ibeshe land Oba Richard Ogunsanya and the Ayangburen of Ikorodu Oba Kabiru Shotobi.
The protesters led by the wife of a community leaders, identified as Mrs Adelakun Nike called on the Onibeshe of Ibeshe land to find a lasting solution to the killings.
They lamented that their community is being deserted due to the incessant killings, even as commercial and social activities have been brought to a halt in the last one year.
